Writing: Framing Your Thoughts - Predicate Expanders (Why)

Adding on to our ongoing FYT discussion on predicate expanders, we've learned about the "why" predicate expander. The "why" predicate expander, in the sentence, explains the reason for the action taking place. The words we use to explain why are: to, so, for, and because.

Examples:

The dog chased the cat in the park to win a race.

The dog chased the cat in the park so he could prove that he is faster.

The dog chased the cat in the park for some strange reason.

The dog chased the cat in the park because the cat was mean.
