Math - Place Value to 1,000

After learning about fractions during math class, we will be moving on to learning about the 1,000 place value and what it means. we learning about the 1s, 10s, and 100s place value at the beginning of the year, so now we are just adding more information to what we already know!

Ten 1s = 10

Ten 10s = 100

Ten 100s = 1,000

Here are some example of how to write out numbers:

5,622 = Five thousand, six hundred twenty-two

1,595 = One thousand, five hundred ninety-five

3,047 = Three thousand, forty-seven

Try to not write the word "and" between the numbers you are writing out because "and" means a decimal, and we are not worrying about decimals right now. For example, do not write 6,245 as "Six thousand, two hundred AND forty-five" because that will translate as 6,200.45.
