Here is a great application from the Oracle ThinkQuest Library Website that can help improve typing skills at home! Begin with Lesson 1, Line 1 and work your way up as your skills improve. After each exercise, it will give you a time/speed result, but all that matters is typing all the letters correctly from the home position.
