In science, we learned about the force the Sun has on Earth to keep it in orbit. This force is called gravitational pull. The students learned about how large masses of rock or gases, called planets, were passing by when the Sun pulled them into a orbit - a curved path going around a large celestial body.
Every planet in our solar system has its own gravitational pull, which is why we have a moon orbiting our planet and explains why other planets have rings of asteroids.
On Earth, gravity keeps us on the ground. Gravity is the force which makes things fall to the ground. Without gravity, we would all float away!
